For the thirteenth time The Thyborøn Harbour InitiativeAwardCompetition was held. This time the Award was given to Henning Kjeldsen for establishing Thyborøn Trawlbinderi at the harbor, as well as trust and loyalty to the services of the port when constructing and rebuilding of vessels.

For years Henning Kjeldsen has been enterprising and willing to take risks and thus built up a company - Thyborøn Trawlbinderi - which continues providing growths and create new jobs.

Thyborøn Trawlbinderi was established in 2013 with 5 employees in Thyborøn and already it has grown to employ 11 employees.

Thyborøn Trawlbinderi also leads the way by taking modern technologies in use, where trawls are optimized in a 3D simulation and calculation program so that the trawl is adapted to the catch and the fishing vessel. The company is situated in a 1,100 square meter workshop at the harbour, where they work with trawls of all sizes. Two large trawl drums at the rear of the workshop means Thyborøn Trawlbinderi can handle all trawl indoors.

Thyborøn Trawlbinderi's reference list showso that trawlers are also largely provided with trawl doors from Thyborøn Trawl Doors - a proof of the fact that not Thyborøn Trawlbinderi doesn't only contribute to their own business - but to the entire value chain in Thyborøn.

Through many years Henning Kjeldsen has also continually expanded his fleet with both conversions and newbuildings. Here Henning Kjeldsen has shown his confidence in and loyalty to the port's many service - not least 'Kynde & Toft' and 'Thyborøn Skibs & Motor'. These initiatives contribute to growth, maintaining and creation of jobs in the area.

It is also a great pleasure for Thyborøn that particular the vessel 'Myggenes' has landed catches to the auction in Thyborøn during 2014.

The purpose of the Initiative Award
The award is founded by Thyborøn Harbour in appreciation of special initiatives which support business development.

This is a broad formulation chosen to focus on the effort made for the benefit of Thyborøn and the whole area. For the selection of award winners is set up a pricing committee consisting of Michael Madsen, industry representatives; Bent Bro, a representative with special insight into the fishing conditions; Theis Christensen, port captain and Jesper Jensen Holt, port director.

From November 1st 2014 Thyborøn Trawlbinderi has made an agreement to acquire Avance's Trawl Makers in Hvide Sande, and the name will be changed to Thyborøn Trawlbinderi.

The company will be run by the same people.

Palle will be the Chief Executive, and John Bech will also be available in Hvide Sande a few days a week. They will work closely together to still develop the trawl with new and old customers.

Everyone is welcome for a cup of coffee and a chat.

Monday, September 1, 2014 the royal couple visit Thyborøn on their summer cruise on board the Royal Yacht.

The program for the day in Thyborøn has now been determined, and the townspeople are given the opportunity to see Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince Consort.

The Royal Yacht calling Thyborøn Harbour at 10.00, after which the official welcome will take place.

It is Thyborøn Harbour's 100th birthday, and it reflects the program.

The Queen visits the following locations:

• Fishing School, where young people have learned the latest competencies in the blue professions.
• Thyborøn Trawlbinderi which makes nets for fishing vessels.
• Thyborøn Trawl Door, which provides Trawl doors for all types of fishing.
